NUC to Review Degree Curriculum

The National University Commission (NUC) has stated that it will review all degree curriculum in the nation's varsities with a view to ensuring and encouraging creativity and innovation among Nigerian undergraduates. The Executive Secretary (NUC), Adamu Rashid made this disclosure at the commissioning of the Edo varsity, Iyamu, Edo north senatorial district.
On his part, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Emmanuel Aluyor said that the Establishment of the Edo university is a mark of the beginning of a new dawn in the history of quality education in Nigeria. He revealed that the institution has put in place a competency based curriculum for her students to ensure that when they graduate they will not just be employable but will be employers of labour. The Vice Chancellor added: "It is on record that there is a state-owned university in Nigeria that is capable of providing world-class university education. From this day onward, Nigerians need not travel abroad in search of quality education. All they now seek abroad are obtainable here."
