183 Exam Impersonators Arrested

About 183 people have been arrested by the authorities of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Anambra State, over alleged impersonation during examination screening exercise. The Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Joseph Ahaneku, disclosed the arrest in an interview with journalists at the 32nd inaugural lecture of the institution, with the theme 'Anatomy of Fraud and Corruption in Nigeria: A search for the Pandora Box and Panacea' delivered by Prof. Emma Okoye. Describing the act as the height of corruption in the institution, Ahaneku said the suspects who were handed over security operatives were said to have been released. The vice chancellor accused parents of aiding corruption by influencing the admission of their children.
