EDO APC PRIMARIES: WHY OBASEKI WILL EMERGE WINNER----ALIMIKHENA
Ahead of the APC primary election
this week, the deputy chief whip of the senate and the senator representing Edo
North Senator Francis Alimikhena has express confidence that the people of Edo
State will collectively support and deliver Mr. Godwin Obaseki in the forth
coming APC primaries in Edo State. The Edo North Senator who was addressing
political leaders from Edo North in his country home in Igiode urged them to be
steadfast and remember to make good their collective decision to retain the
developmental stride of comrade Adams Oshiomhole by supporting the only
aspirant who has the passion and determination to continue with the road mapped
of development of the current administration.
According to the Edo North leader,
delegates would soon be face by the reality of their voting. All delegates must
be aware that their vote determines their future and the future of the state.
We have no future in any other aspirant than Mr. Godwin Obaseki who is the
brain box behind the success of Adams Oshiomhole. As the chairman of Edo State
Economic and Strategic Team, Obaseki has shown that he has the capacity to run
an all-inclusive government and continue government business without bitterness
or hatred for any one irrespective of their stands against him.
Senator Alimikhena who said you
cannot change a winning team express the believe that with Obaseki as the next
governor of the state, the Edo economic future was guaranteed, just as he cited
Obaseki strategic performance that has enabled Edo State to be up to date in
the payment of civil servant salary and recently increase salaries of civil
servant in the midst of economic hardship. Alimikhena who is also called the
oracle of development maintain that Obaseki has concluded plans for the multi
sectoral developmental approach that will enhance Edo economic based to withstand
the current shock of the global financial crisis and drop in oil prices. APC is
committed to the principle of democracy and we have to build infrastructures
that match our aspiration. It’s the primaries that will determine who
represents the party in the main election and we must give our support to the
man that has the capacity and leadership ability as we go to the field.
Taking a swipe at the attackers and
accusers of Godwin Obaseki, the deputy chief whip of the senate said we are a united
party, and united we shall remain because our strength lies in our unity. He
appealed to other aspirant in the race to extend their support to Obaseki
rather than inciting the public against him. He particularly appealed to madam
Igbafe and her women group to run an issue based campaign rather than using an
unpleasant language in an internal family politics. Senator Alimikhena added
that the outcome of the primary will not divide us as one big family. We have
proposed as human, but the final result belongs to God. Whoever that finally
emerge as the winner, we will all join to congratulate such a person and work
together as a team to deliver our party at the general election. He warns party
supporters not to be more desperate than the aspirants themselves.
