Traditional ruler reiterates commitment to development

The Egiegbai !! of Ekperi Kingdom, H.R.H Alhaji D.Y.E Kanoba has reiterated commitment to the development of the kingdom as topmost priority in the scheme of things.
The traditional ruler made this disclosure on the conferment of the exemplary leadership award on him by Dr. Kwame Njrumah Vision-Alive Movement on Thursday at Ekperi, Kingdom, Etsako West Local government in Edo State, South West, Nigeria.
In his remark, the monarch who was astounded by the nomination of him for the award, says that the gesture has only com to bring the best in him for the emancipation of the Ekpeheri people and Nigeria at large.
Presenting the award, the co-coordinator of the movement Mr. Abass Sule said the award given to the traditional ruler is based on his exemplary contribution to the development of his community and Edo State.
“The traditional ruler has distinguished himself in the development of the community”
He said the award is the highest award bestowed on Africa leader who has contributed to the development of their country and community. Adding that the traditional ruler is the first traditional ruler to be given the award in Africa.
Nkrumah Vision Alive Movement is the legacy of Dr. Nkwame Nkruma, a founding father of Ghanaian democracy and also a powerful advocate of Pan African ism, who was in the vanguard of African unity before he was overthrown in 1966.
The award is the highest  African honor that can be conferred on any African leader who has distinguished himself in the area of exemplary leadership.
Some past recipient of the prestigious Nkrumah awardin Nigeria includes, His excellency General Yakubu Gowon GCFR, His Excellency General Abdulsalam Abubakar GCFR, late Chief Gani Fawehimi and Femi Falana both renowned Nigeria Human Right Activists, former governor of Lagos state Babtunde Raji Fashola; Dr. Chris Ngige, former governor of Anambra State, Chief Ufot Ekaette, former Secretary to the government of the federal republic of Nigeria, Mike Okiro, former Inspector General of Police
