Oogoni women protest half naked over detention of Prodest hotel manager

Some women from oogoni nationality in Khana Local Government Area yesterday trooped out half naked to protest the continuous detention of the demolished Prodest Hotel manager Dr. B. Azoroh.

The leader of protesters is the mother of the detained manager, Mrs Azoroh Lesi Beewo. She cried to the Rivers State Government to release her son to her. She threatened to go full nude if her son is not release to her.

Dr. Bariledum Azoroh was arrested and prosecuted two weeks ago for violation of Executive Order number 7 of Rivers State Government which prohibited operation of Hotels during this period of COVID-19 Pandemic.

Azoroh was taken to Isolation Centre to ascertain his COVID-19 status but the result came out positive on Monday. 

Azoroh was one of the 27 new confirmed cases in Rivers State. He has been taken to one of the Isolation Centres for treatment.

This protest was organized immediately after the result of Dr. Azoroh was confirmed positive NCDC. The protesters are between the ages of 65 to 70 years.
